Milton Rooms Redevelopment ProposalsThe latest proposals for the redevelopment of the Milton Rooms complex have now been published and will be presented at a meeting in the venue on the evening of Thursday 21st May 2009. The report concentrates on four options for the development of the site with details of the merits and cost implications of each. If any of these plans were to be implemented it would undoubtedly result in a significant increase in visitors to the town centre wishing to use the new facility. This in turn would help to realise a massive potential for Malton to become a cultural attraction all year round, as well as giving the local population access to a range competetively priced & fully equipped spaces and amenities. The report, commissioned by Ryedale District Council & undertaked by CIDA (Creative Industry Development Agency), can be viewed here, but to fully appreciate the wide ranging implications of these proposals for the whole of Ryedale - not just Malton - you really need to attend the hour long presentation at 7pm on 21st May. Following this there will be an opportunity to have your questions put to the members of the CIDA team responsible for the proposals.
